Carnival Parade

FLOATS & FANCY DRESS

Wells Carnival Procession traditionally comprises individuals and groups featuring floats, fancy-dress plus pull and push-along vehicles.   We’d be delighted if you’d like to join in and it would be wonderful to see some new faces taking part.  Each entry will be judged within their various category (see below for list of classes for judging and how to enter).

FANCY DRESS PEDESTRIANS/PUSHBIKES ETC.

Entries for classes 1 – 6 (see below) – To take part in the fancy dress competition please be ready to be called into the main arena from 2pm. One class per entry, please. Each class will be asked to parade in the arena where they will be judged and prizes awarded. You will then be asked to leave the arena so we can continue judging other classes. (Parents may wish to accompany children in the arena).

POWERED VEHICLES/FLOATS

Entries for classes 7 – 9 (see below) – To enter the Parade in a powered vehicle the float organiser must complete a PARADE RULES & ENTRY FORM and should arrive on The Buttlands by 1pm. You will be met by a committee member and given an entry card which will show the class entered. This should be displayed prominently (ideally in the front of the vehicle). Judging will commence at 1.30pm. The parade leaves the Buttlands at 3pm prompt.

Please CONTACT US if you have any queries or would like to enter a particularly large float or group of people.
